This means that whenever you trade with someone online that there’s a good chance the item was made with duplicated runes which means that using that item is similar to cheating it’s just that we don’t know that it’s a duped item we just assume it’s legit. Why does this affect the experience online? Because it means that there’s hundreds of enigmas, griefs, etc… whatever runeword you want when there should really not be any or they should be very rare at the start of a season. They get botted, then duplicated up to the high runes and then they’re traded for “forum gold“ (d2JSP currency) and people sell forum gold for real money. This is the reason there are so many runes online very early in the new season. However this is easy to circumvent by simply using the runes and making a runeword because making a runeword creates a new item ID since it’s no longer a duplicated rune but a new runeword. When there’s too many duped runes eventually they will disappear because blizzard has a system that checks for items that have the same “ID” as another item and if so then it deletes the duplicated items. What I mean by “easy” is that the game is made a certain way and since people duplicate it means that there’s too many runes. I could talk about how D2JSP means that the ladder is pointless because a large amount of the players are using previous ladder currency to buy things in current-season ladder but let’s focus on Duping and Botting and how it affects the game.ĭuping and Botting is what makes the diablo 2 economy so “easy”. Duping Botting and D2JSP affect the online experience in a negative way.
